She’s afraid to give herself away because it might just be given right back.
To open up to someone is one thing but to lose yourself in someone is a completely different thing.
You get wrapped up in what you say, what you do, and how they’ll react that you end up abandoning the value of yourself.
Maybe it’s the heartbreak that scares her, but what she doesn’t realize is forgetting who she once was is even scarier.
Losing them isn’t the real fear she has, it’s having to piece back together who she once was before them.
Because once it’s all said and done, and the truth comes out and the feelings are gone, you’re all alone.
And once you’re all alone, how can you remember how you used to love yourself if you’ve already lost yourself
